Thoughts on Comments – Part 3

I will be commenting on the comments from my previous series (here: https://copytestprove.com/thoughts-on-a-conversation-with-a-stranger-part-1/), and (of course, because it is my job) will link to a Bible scripture and/or tell of a specific corresponding situation. This is one is a comment from Part 2 of the series (here: https://copytestprove.com/thoughts-on-a-conversation-with-a-stranger-part-2/ )

Once I was talking to a man who asked for prayer, but he sounded very discouraged. I don’t like praying general prayers, so I asked him specifically what he needed. He responded, ‘Money.’

‘What for?’ I pressed on.

‘For a car.’

‘Why do you need a car?’

‘The Lord has shown me that I need to minister [in a remote place with limited access to public transportation]. I’ve been praying and praying for money to get a car, but nothing has happened so far.’

‘So why don’t we pray that He makes a way for you to do His will? After all, He’s the Boss and probably wants the job done more than you do.’

‘Okay.’

So we prayed together simply and that was that. Until the next week…

The guy was beaming! ‘YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE IT!!! (Nigerians are not known for keeping their exuberance in check.) At church last Sunday, some guy I don’t even know dropped car keys in my hand and told me that the Lord told him to do it! We did the ownership transfer papers on Monday!!!’

*shrugs* What can I say? If you pray for a specific way for God to answer prayer, you’ll miss out on the crazy ways the Lord will make a way.

Got any crazy/unexpected stories of answered prayers?

  1. That is incredible!! Oh! How I wish, as I’ve been praying for more business lol. I’m suddenly getting a lot of random inquiries, though I think I need to be more specific about the kind of business.

I actually had a message sent during prayers once: Get out of your ego and focus on your duty. It’s really helped me realign to showing up for what I’m called to do. Rather than focus on material needs, it’s about the purpose it serves.

Way back in the day, I prayed for deep unconditional love, surprisingly the next day… I found a stray kitten that I took in and it grew to love me so deeply. I always found that incredible. I prayed for him.
