Thoughts on Comments – Part 2

I will be commenting on the comments from my previous series (here: https://copytestprove.com/thoughts-on-a-conversation-with-a-stranger-part-1/), and (of course, because it is my job) will link to a Bible scripture and/or tell of a specific corresponding situation.

For the most part, I agree. Christians need to have a genuine heart. Most people can smell a fake.

My premise was that sometimes you don’t ‘feel’ like it, but you ‘saddle up anyway,’ to quote John Wayne. (I forget which movie… I’m sure Google will tell me, if I asked…)

For the most part, I’m glad to go out and share the Word with people, answer questions, give Bible studies, etc. But I do have days when I’m not feeling it. At those times, I think of this comic that an artist drew on this very topic of ‘what do I do when I don’t feel like sharing the Word with others?’ and the answer was, ‘A dying man doesn’t care how his lifesaver ‘feels’ at the moment of rescue.’ (I believe Jesus when He says, ‘The Words that I speak unto you are spirit and life.’)

Jesus’ commandment to all his disciples before He went to Heaven was, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.’ (Mark 16:15)

  1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your honesty about not always feeling motivated. Your reminder that consistency and genuine care matter is encouraging and gives readers something to reflect on.

  2. Yes, I agree. I was reminded today that even Jesus served people when he didn’t feel like it and was just craving some time to himself. It didn’t change the fact that he didn’t have a genuine heart for people.
