Thoughts on Comments – Part 11

There have been many books in history that have started out as a series (Sherlock Holmes books, The Pickwick Papers, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, among others…), while one verse in the Bible used to frustrate me when I was a kid. It reads, ‘And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.’ (John 21:25)

I always wondered (when I was a kid) what did Jesus do that wasn’t included, and what was the implication of those actions.

Now, as a grown up, I find myself thinking about this issue less and less. I think, this verse is representative of everyone in the world. No one wants to read all the details of every single thing a person has done.

I also think that life gets in the way of these kinds of thoughts. There is so much going on in my day-to-day that I don’t have time to get involved in others’ lives.

Of course, it’s not everyone who thinks like this. This is why there are so many gossip magazines and websites, clickbaiting everyone and all that. So maybe it’s just me…

But I remember back in the day I used to enjoy serial stories and TV shows, especially if they had a good cliffhanger. Of course, nowadays you don’t always have to wait. You can chill and… stream, I guess. 😉
