Thoughts on a Conversation with a Stranger – Part 3

‘…But hey, if God does so well in taking care of you, how come you’re stuck here with no food or water, with a heavy load and a long wait time with no seat?’

‘It says in Isaiah, that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Besides if I had all those things, would we have had a conversation at all? Not to talk of a mini-sermon and fellowship right here to strengthen your faith. Apparently, to the Lord YOU are more important than me having a smooth sailing day. So in a way, yes, I have not been free and able to do as I pleased today, but that was not what today was about. The main goal was to meet you and have the time discuss various topics.’

‘And you’re okay with that?’

‘Well, it’s like the time I was kidnapped…’

‘YOU WERE KIDNAPPED?!?’

‘Yes, at the time there were a lot of kidnappings happening in our area at the time. Someone had once said, ‘Someone should do something about it! (Isn’t that a typical reaction?) You’re a missionary, so you should find them and minister to them.’ And my response was that if it was the Lord’s will, then He would make a way. And He did… I would not like to go through it again, but hey, the job’s the job, right?’

The story will continue tomorrow. But if you want to read the story (written the night of my release), please find it here: https://copytestprove.com/an-extreme-situation/

  1. I really enjoyed the conversational style of this post. It draws the reader in and leaves us wanting to know what happened next. Thanks for sharing another chapter of the story.
