New Shoes

New Shoes

One of my neighbors is a very sweet Christian lady. We have been going for regular walks together and sharing our thoughts and beliefs as well as praying together for different people and situations. One day when meeting her for a walk I noticed that she was wearing sandals instead of her regular warm tennis shoes. She explained that her old shoes were hurting her too much, but that she would be okay as she had a warm pair of woolen socks on to keep her warm. It was early spring and quite cold. Snow still covered the ground.

As we prayed for our walk I took the opportunity to specifically pray for a new pair of shoes for her. My friend was very touched by my prayer. She smiled and said that this was the first time someone had prayed for her needs.

She phoned me a couple of days later and said that she had good news to tell me and that the Lord had answered our prayer. She had received a brand-new pair of shoes! She was laughing and told me that they fit her really well. She explained that a few months ago she had turned in a pair of broken shoes to the repair shop. She had forgotten about this, and suddenly the repairman phoned her and told her that there was a new pair of shoes for her at his shop to be picked up. The shoe company had decided that instead of fixing the broken shoes, they’d send her a brand-new pair of shoes. My friend was overjoyed and shared this testimony of answer to specific prayer with everyone that she met.
