He said, ‘Again, I think it’s a calling to be a missionary and you have to be a special someone to do it.’

‘Well, in Acts it says that when people saw that Peter and John were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled and took knowledge that they had been with Jesus. Peter and John later told them that they cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. I think that’s all that being a witness is about: telling what the Lord has done for you and how He has worked in your life.’ (Acts 4)

‘It can’t be that simple.’

‘Sure. In a court of law, a witness on the stand is just someone who has seen or heard something and tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help him God, right? There’s no degree needed before he takes the stand, there’s no apprenticeship or being an usher, deacon, elder, etc. before he appears before the jury. He’s only supposed to sit there and tell the truth. And I also think that’s all there is to it.’

The story ends tomorrow.
